Hem denizde hem karada gitme özelliğine sahip Amphicar 1957-8 yıllarında Almanya'da dizayn edilmiştir. Az rastlanan Triumph Herald motora sahip, tekerlek veya pervane yardımıyla kullanılana otomobil aynı zamanda ön tekerleklerin döndürülmesi ile suda gidebilmektedir.
